This course taught me to make informed decisions about food and dietary supplements by identifying credible health recommendations based on scientific evidence. I learned how nutrient requirements are determined and used to guide dietary choices by evaluating diet analysis tools. The course has deepened my understanding of the critical relationship between diet, human health, and chronic diseases.
HUN4445: Disease & Nutrition 1
This course has taught me how to perform nutrition assessments and understand the underlying causes, symptoms, and clinical features of various diseases and conditions. I learned how to manage nutritional needs for these conditions. I enjoyed learning about the effects of food and nutrient interactions with medications.

WST2322: Introduction to Health Disparities
This course has taught me how the social environment impacts health and contributes to health disparities. I learned how to critically assess the evidence of social determinants of health and pinpoint gaps in current knowledge.
ANT 3451: Race and Racism
This course taught me the global patterns of human biological variation and the underlying factors that contribute to these differences. I learned how race is culturally constructed both in scientific contexts and daily life. Additionally, I liked how this course addressed racism from various cultural viewpoints different from my own.
